At the regional and national levels, IDEAGOV works closely with institutions such as the Xunta de Galicia and the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IEF), whose expertise and support have been instrumental in advancing research on decentralization and fiscal governance. The center also strengthens its relationship with national partners like the BBVA Foundation, expanding its capacity for knowledge transfer and policy engagement.

Internationally, IDEAGOV extends its reach through collaboration with organizations including the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and by establishing formal, long-term partnerships with leading academic institutions in Political Science and Economics.

In the field of Political Science, IDEAGOV engages with the American Political Science Association (APSA)—through its Organized Section on Federalism and Intergovernmental Relations—and the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR), via its Standing Group on Federalism and Regionalism.

In Economics, the center partners with the Ibero-American Association for Local Financing (AIFIL) to promote comparative research on fiscal federalism and local governance.
